Intro

Hey, Fred Lam here and welcome to our daily huddle episode number 12.

First thing first, in actually less than one hour at 8PM Eastern time which is New York time, I’m having a brand new workshop that will actually blow you away on exactly how you can actually use nothing but simply what we call celebrity traffic to actually drive a flood of sales and traffic to your website and I call this The Lazy Man Method. Now if you are on Facebook right on top of this video right now there’s a link, click on it, register and make sure you’re there live in about one hour from now. Well to be honest, actually 59 minutes from right now. If you are on YouTube right in the middle of the description below you will find a link click on it, sign up, save your sit and make sure you actually there live with us in 59 minutes we’re having a brand new workshop that will completely blow you away. And here’s the deal:

So without further ado, I’m actually going to dive right in into our five questions. For those of you who are joining us for the first time what I do is every day, from Monday to Friday regardless if it’s holiday or whatsoever and I know that Thanksgiving is coming up, I will still be hosting our daily huddle even on Thanksgiving so you and I can actually celebrate together; be thankful, be grateful together and I’m very thankful that I actually have you guys watching this video, being with me every single day and really giving me the opportunity to empower you guys to actually go from an individual and now potentially becoming an entrepreneur and actually escape the rat race. I absolutely love to have you guys joining me on that journey and thank you for having me part of your journey at the same time. Again, if you have questions that you want me to feature in our daily huddle all you have to do is simply go to www.fredlam.com/ask and you will have a questionnaire; I’ll ask you for your name, email address and the question that you want to actually ask me and I will get it featured right into our daily huddle.

Now before we begin, put in the word excited right now into the comment box if you’re on Facebook and if you are on YouTube put in the word excited so I can actually see some excitement. Listen, I only have two hours of sleep and I’m still excited right now, I’m so pumped up every day I actually look forward on being here with you guys. Again, this is really an odd hour that I am actually coming on live only because I’m having a workshop coming up and I don’t want to miss a single day. That’s what it is. I’m getting a lot of people saying excited pouring in right now. Happy to see you live but your voice is not heard. Is my voice not heard? That’s odd. I hope that you guys can—Well, a lot of people are saying excited so I’m pretty sure that you guys can actually hear me loud and clear.  Anyway, going back to that right now let’s dive right in into our five questions of today.

Now, here’s an important point, one of the questions brought up pretty well which is about how to create a Facebook video ad specifically for eCommerce and I have an amazing tip for you guys that I can actually share with you in today’s daily huddle. So with that let me actually go, search and dig up my email and let me look for the daily huddle [side talk 05:16-50] oh I find it right now.

[0:06:37] Question 1: What Apps do you recommend for Funnels and Bundles?

Anyway, going to the question of today, wow this is a hard name to pronounce,Tomas Kristiansen. I hope I pronounced your last name correctly, so your question is:

What Apps do you recommend for Funnels and Bundles?

A really great question that you brought this up. When it comes to funnels obviously it’s going to be Zero Up app. There’s no doubt about it it’s going to be Zero Up app. I’m not going to sell any other things except for Zero Up app because I own it. That’s what I would say. Now, for bundles one thing that you can look into, actually I heard about this guys we know each other but we never really connected well or had a chance to actually connect or be introduced properly but I know that guys from Smart Seven app have some very amazing bundles software, integration that they have Shopify definitely something that you wanted to take a look into. But again when it comes to funnels it’s Zero Up. I’m not going to say anything else, obviously, I would tell you to actually take a look at Zero Up because of we actually a funnel builder right inside. I hope that I answered your question Tomas. Simple, quick question so I don’t think I have any much in-depth to go into unless if you want me to go into a pitch on selling you guys Zero Up I can do that too but at the end of the day in our daily huddle there’s no selling. I’m just here to [inaudible 07:47] my value and to basically answer all your guys’ questions.

[0:08:00] Question 2: If I want to promote it, after researched found a number of different group of target audience. Do I put all target audience under 1 Adset or diversify them into different Adset?

So to the second question by Lambert Lam. Lambert asked,

I understood that there a saying… “Do not fall in love your product”. Let said I found a good product. It has a high sale quantity in Aliexpress, and also in Facebook, selling extremely well under a Facebook page. (researched found out it has thousand of comments and likes).

If I want to promote it, after researched found a number of different group of target audience. Do I put all target audience under 1 Adset or diversify them into different Adset?

Answer (Fred Lam): Yes, you want to make sure that you target them into different Adset. You don’t want to lump them up together because at the end of the day you don’t know which audience is actually converting for you. And if you don’t know then you’re going to be advertising blindly and your risk is going to be a lot higher. I don’t want you to actually go through that. Obviously Facebook is smart enough eventually to figure out what you want and to basically know who you market your product to but at the end of the day if you can actually cut straight to what you know and let Facebook say I served all these audiences in different  Adsets and then you make the judgement on this seeing where Facebook is serving your ads then you can actually make the right decision on what you need to do with your Adset. You can scale it up, you can pause it, you can stop it, you create a new ad etc. etc.

So moving on to your next question. Let say I have a limited budget of $10/day and need to test 5 Adsets. I test 1 Adset at a time and if it produces a negative result, I will follow through with the second Adset and so on…Am I right to say that the “Don’t fall in love with your product” is invalid under this circumstances?

At the end of the day, I keep telling you guys this. Here is the deal and I’m just going to be blunt, truthful and honest with you. Number one, even if you actually found a product that you see that it has a lot of likes, a lot of comments, people are selling it; you think that is selling well but at the end of the day, will it sell well for you? That is not going to be certain or a 100% guaranteed until you actually find out what your 4-level of optimization is going to be. I have seen a lot of cases where there are products that are doing really well online and you try to replicate if you’re not going to get the same result. You’re not going to get the same result only because of several reasons; number 1 you may not have your pixel seasoned enough, number 2 you may have not the right targeting, number 3 your ad creative is maybe slightly different. Because when it comes to and ad creative it actually plays a major role in terms of conversions and click-through rate at the same time. So, ultimately you have to test it and really find out if it’s a lining with the 4-level optimization number that I basically show you guys which is the benchmark number that you need to actually optimize your ad or decide what you want to do with that ad. Let’s say that you only have $10 and you need play around with it.  Here’s what I would actually do, I would actually spend $5 a day on two different Ad sets, run it for 24 hours and if your click-through rate is low on both of the audiences then that really means that at the end of the day you may not have the right creative in place or your targeting is off. So you want to take a look at that. If you really have a tight budget then monitor it over a 24-hour period. Now, that’s the best way because if you’re getting a click-through rate that is like 0.5%, guess what? That means that your ad has some problem or your audience has some problem. You know that the product are going to sell because it has a lot of engagement online, you see a lot of people selling it, so technically it’s really falling down into your lap maybe it’s just that the targeting is wrong or simply your ad creative is not done up properly.

Again, don’t fall in love with the product, basically in my case scenario how I position it is, do not be attached to the product. You need to let the data tell you what the story is going to be. And like I said earlier if a product actually works online for someone else, it doesn’t really mean that it’s going to work for you because there are lots of variables involved and you have to set it up, see it yourself, and really decide what you want to do with that ad, with that product, based on the data the Facebook is actually being sent back to you. I hope that really helped you out and basically helped you understand that.

[0:12:47] Question 3: If I keep on narrowing my targeting interest 4 - 5 times, will that mess up Facebook's algorithm? Fake Ex: Dogs -- I Love Pitbull (Flex Target ;D)-- Online Shopping-- Necklace = 360,000 Potential Reach. Please Help Advice.

Moving on to the next question.Chue Lor, you asked:

Fred, if I keep on narrowing my targeting interest 4 – 5 times, will that mess up Facebook’s algorithm?
Fake Ex: Dogs — I Love Pitbull (Flex Target ;D)– Online Shopping– Necklace = 360,000 Potential Reach.
Please Help Advice.

Here’s the deal, the more that you flex down then the more that you are basically limiting yourself. Now, Facebook is telling you that you are getting a 360,000 potential reach, is that across all network or is that going to be just Facebook mobile news feed which I always tell you guys to go after which [inaudible 13:28-29] mobile right out the gate. Is it going to affect the algorithm? The answer is no. It’s not going to affect the algorithm but there may be a chance that if you flex it so much down further because you’re going so narrow there may be an opportunity or chance that your CPM is going to be a lot more expensive because it’s harder for Facebook to actually find that audience for you, so that’s why you want to keep aware of and really decide from there. Again, what I would do [inaudible 13:55] what the audience size is really massive if I don’t flex it down four-five times and you can start with 360,000 that is fine but what you want to do, let’s say that this audience works for you then you want to basically test smaller flex targeting so you have a four then test three different ones and really test the combination now to see where your actual customers are. Because if you flex that four times, realistically you won’t know which audience is actually performing better. You’re going to be guessing, that’s what you’re going to be doing. Again, you want to do the different combinations and the best part is actually going after two flex targeting but again you can go four, you can go five it’s depending on what you want to accomplish and given the fact that you’re going after a pretty big audience size right now. 360,000 is really a good number to actually get started. Again, it won’t affect the algorithm.

I have a lot of questions that you guys are putting into the comment box and also in the live chat. If you want to actually get your questions answered and featured in our daily huddle make sure you actually submit your question through the online form at www.fredlam.com/ask because obviously there are so many questions that come in every day it’s just going to be super hard for me to actually answer everyone’s question right into the comment box. That’s why I’m doing the daily huddle just to basically number 1, show you my dedication to you on helping you succeed and basically forcing myself to answer at least five questions every day and some of these questions maybe once that was shared of other people at the same time, maybe you have the same questions or similar and actually gets your question answered.

[0:15:50] Question 4: You have really inspired me to start my online business. I started it in October. Since then I only got 3 sales. I am selling watches and sunglasses. My Facebook account got banned. My question is how do I get to my customers without using Facebook? I am trying other alternatives. I get traffic to my site 1000 a day but no more sales. Some add to carts though.

So moving on to the 4th question by Shantavia Johnson. You said,

You have really inspired me to start my online business. I started it in October.
Since then I only got 3 sales. I am selling watches and sunglasses. My Facebook account got banned. My question is how do I get to my customers without using Facebook? I am trying other alternatives. I get traffic to my site 1000 a day but no more sales. Some add to carts though.

I would have to say if you’re getting 1,000 clicks on your site and you’re not getting a sale that means that you’re selling a product that’s way too generic. Sunglasses and watches can be very generic. You want to actually flex it down and really go after a market like I was using as the example of a Paris watch because you’re not just going after people who like the watch but also people who are going after Paris at the same time. If you actually got your Facebook ad account suspended, here’s what I would suggest you do go find a family member, go find a friend and use their account. And if you got your account suspended there’s going to be something that you did wrong, either you’re using copyright stuff or either you are not [inaudible 18:05-06] correctly and not being compliant. You really want to find out why you got your account suspended because that’s very, very important for your business. Now obviously you don’t want a 100% dependent just on Facebook; other places that you can actually look and figure out on actually getting traffic and if you want to know exactly how to use like other traffic sources that actually drive traffic like internet celebrities you have to sign up for our workshop that’s going to be coming up in less than 42 minutes. We have a workshop coming up and we’ll talk about a very specific traffic source that doesn’t even require advertising. So if you want to sign up on that again the link is above in this video if you’re on Facebook and right in the middle of description on YouTube there’s a link. Anyway, on top of that there is a place like Google shopping but again for Google shopping, you don’t want to sell something that’s generic because it will affect you drastically.  There are other places that you can look at maybe Bing ads maybe something that you want to take a look and consider, try it out and go from there. These are the sources that I would recommend you to actually take.

[0:19:20] Question 5: How can I create my product video for Facebook ad if I’m just starting and don’t have technical knowledge background? I know having a video is a great advantage and appealing to target customer. Please help Fred. Thanks for answering my question.

So moving on to our last question of the day by Mary Manaog. Mary asked,

How can I create my product video for Facebook ad if I’m just starting and don’t have technical knowledge background? I know having a video is a great advantage and appealing to target customer. Please help Fred. Thanks for answering my question.

Great question. I talked about this on my YouTube channel before if I recall it was—I think so, I think I did or maybe basically in one of Ask Fred Lam Show I talked about this. I think it was in my Ask Fred Lam Show that I have previously. I was actually invited by Facebook headquarters to their office and I learned something pretty mind-blowing that’s called the Facebook mobile studio. And as we all know right now Facebook a lot of people are responding more to video ads than image ad because obviously when you’re scrolling down the news feed when you see something moving it catches your attention and you actually take a look at it. So Facebook is basically sharing with us like different strategies that we can use what we call thumb-stopping ads and there are two apps that Facebook recommend us to use; the first one is actually called legend app. What legend does is that you can upload an image and put some text on top of it and it will animate that text. I want to see if I can actually do a quick demo. So I took a picture and I just put in the word “You’re gorgeous today” and I click on next and what it does is that it will automatically add in animation to the text on whatever you want to sell. You can actually have different variations of all these and let’s say that I like this one over here. You can actually change to different colours, if you want other filters etc. etc. And then what you can do is once you have selected one you can save this to wherever you want. Now from there, you can actually create different combinations of your ad. You can create different variations like take different images of your product or basically just grab it from Aliexpress and then you use something called the video shop. The video shop costs $0.99 just to give you heads up but at the end of the day what you can actually do is the following. I did this on a mobile phone and I actually can do this in like less than 15 minutes. This is an Aliexpress product and here’s the beauty in the video shop, you get the opportunity to get royalty free videos so you don’t actually get in trouble on getting your account suspended. Let me play it again. So what I did is I basically combined a legend putting text on top of the image and then combining it with video shop and then lo and behold I created a product video ad without even needing the product or actually have any production in place. So that’s a tip that I can give you guys maybe in the future I can do like a more in-depth video training about it. That’s what you want to do and you want to take a look and again the app is called legend, the first one and the second one is called video shop, that’s what it’s called.  But at the end of the day, these are the two apps that you could use quickly to create a video ad. Obviously the best, best, best video ad is actually going to be you ordering the product and demonstrating the product because if you actually see some of the most successful eCommerce products out there is a product that they can do a demonstration on, you don’t need to be on camera just use a phone and simply just get someone to hold the phone and you just basically show or demo it on your hand and that usually sells really, really well.

Outro.

Other than that listen that’s it for today’s daily huddle. Listen again if you have a question that you want me to answer make sure you go to www.fredlam.com/ask fill in that questionnaire. And listen, if you guys want to join our workshop happening in 35 minutes there’s a link above this video on Facebook and right below in the description on YouTube click on it, sign up, make sure you are there and I am expecting a full house so if you want to be there make sure you actually grab your seat now before we even go on live because I would have to tell you I have literally over 5,000 people that signed up for this and GoToWebinar can only allow me to hold up 1,000 people and I can’t even guarantee a replay. Again, I look forward on seeing you guys in roughly 30 minutes from now and I hope that you guys love today’s daily huddle, again, if you have any questions let me know, I’ll answer them everyday five questions and if you love this make sure you follow me on Facebook, like this, share this, put a thumbs up on YouTube, subscribe on YouTube and make sure you are here every single day for our daily huddle where all I’m going to do is just answer five questions and be here to help you guys and get unstuck. I look forward on seeing you guys tomorrow, not tomorrow in actually just like 30 minutes from now, I look forward on seeing you guys then and we’ll talk soon.
